Best Place Ever!! If I ever come back to Natchez, I will definitely go to King's Tavern!!
Started with the Charcuterie Board and it was amazing!! It was more than enough for a group of 4!!
Brisket flatbread is where it's at!! Try it if you haven't--enough for 2!! Also tried the crawfish pot pie and it was legit!!
Drinks are strong and atmosphere Is unique and fun! Bartender was nice, friendly, entertaining, and helpful!
Heard the bread pudding was killer, but I didn't have any room for one more bite!! Great experience! -

Upon entering, bartender continued to ask where we were from even though we answered twice we are from Natchez. I finally yelled across the room "I know it is hard to believe...but we actually live here!" After that my heart raced so much from my PTSD, I couldn't relax enough to eat. If you are a former victim of crime, have anxiety, or PTSD, please keep in mind that you may be grilled about personal information just to dine here. I immediately thought that this must be a place for tourists.
We settled on the Quatro Vegie Flatbread and my partner ordered at the bar. Waitress served our food, but even with only two tables of 4 and our table of 2, never asked if our meal was ok. It wasn't. It was terribly salty from the combination of jarred salted olives and what tasted like jarred artichoke hearts. You could taste nothing else on the flatbread (you add your own seasonings from those on the table), and it came with no sauces. The dough had a bit of a raw flour flavor but was kind of a cool biscuit style dough. The Almond sweet tea was a delicious twist on the fountain sweet teas served around Natchez. Non-meat eaters do have choices for dinner such as the entire booze menu (not on Sundays), Madeline flatbread, quatro vegie flat bread, fish of the day, 3 desserts, and hummus, wood-fired cauliflower, oysters, baked brie, and salads. The only thing I really wanted was a pot pie but every one of them is served with a thyme bacon topping...PASS. Upstairs is a gift shop and a third floor, but the third floor was only shown to other patrons. Again, I really got the idea they DID NOT want us in their establishment between; the waitress, the bartender, and the chain being put across the doorway of third floor gift shop. Anyway, $17 to sit at a low picnic table, in the dark, only to be served salt on bread for $17? Well, I can say we ate all our flatbread cause we were hungry.
One last thing, Regina's Kitchen is advertised all over this place and I was really looking forward to her cooking classes. This experience may have just changed my mind about that. TOTALLY BIZARRE!
The gift shop here was my confirmation that Natchez should be renamed the jam capital of Mississippi! -

This is a MUST when anywhere near Natchez! The atmosphere takes you back to another time, the food is always delicious and the bartender is fun and makes fabulous drinks with the owners locally made rum. I dream about the muffuletta flatbread!

The oldest building in Natchez, King's Tavern, is said to be haunted. I've been twice and never experienced anything of the spirit realm. There were three dead bodies found buried in a wall - two men and one woman, who was believed to be the mistress of a former owner. The place really didn't even have an eerie feel to it. It was uniquely stunning with original brick floors, wood ceilings and a lot of dark wood trim. It's built in a hill, which makes for an interesting surprise if you peek out one of the high set windows.
So, you walk in, grab menus from the bar, seat yourself, and go order up at the bar when you're ready. They bring your food out to you. You go pay at the bar when you're finished. That's how it's done.
I ordered a shrimp, prosciutto, feta and mushroom flatbread and my son had some sort of brisket flatbread. He enjoyed his and I thought mine was incredible. They weren't skimpy with the toppings either. The flatbreads are cooked in a wood fired oven. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them, but that shrimp, prosciutto and feta... just wow!
The prices were reasonable and the bartenders were cool. The atmosphere has a laid back, historic vibe.
If you're in Natchez, go check out the town's oldest building, enjoy a fantastic meal, and hopefully you won't run into any haints. -

Go for the ghosts. The food is ok, but nothing to rave about. The atmosphere is pretty nice. Worth visiting once.
